The word “missions” can mean many things. VBI has a particular way of enabling those involved in missions.
Developing countries and missions
Generally, “missions” refers to Christian activity where the message of the Gospel is entering unreached people groups. The distinction between “developed” and “developing” countries is used to describe different socio-economic levels of development. While the two do not always coincide, as a generalization mission activities usually occur in developing country contexts. Further, in some developing countries where the church has been well established for a long time and may well be more “developed” than churches in developed countries, where the church may be relatively weak, educational assistance is needed for socio-economic reasons. With both of the above, if these financial and educational challenges are not addressed, the work of the Gospel can be seriously undermined.
The Licensed Teacher program
VBI has a unique way of enabling education and training in missions contexts in developing countries. Through the Licensed Teacher program, our School of Ministry level can be offered for free!
For full details of this program, use the Partner Church tab on the main menu and find the drop down item on “Missions”, or visit the Wiki and refer to the section on the School of Ministry.
